Preliminary Findings on CO2 Capture over APTES-Modified TiO2

In this work, the impact of TiO2 properties on CO2 adsorption titanium dioxide modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) was presented. The APTES-modified materials were obtained by solvothermal process and thermal modification in argon atmosphere. prepared adsorbents characterized various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (DRIFT), thermogravimetric analysis BET specific surface area measurement. CO2adsorption measured at different temperatures (0, 30, 40, 50 60 °C). Additionally, carbon cyclic adsorption-desorption measurements also investigated. results revealed that modifying APTES is an efficient method preparing sorbents. It found capacity for samples after higher than sorption unmodified highest reached TiO2-4 h-120 °C-100 mM-500 °C sample. shows excellent stability regenerability 21 cycles.

Surface modification of TiO2 with NaOH promoted the chemisorption, activation and photocatalytic CO2 reduction. An optimized loading amount of NaOH kept a good balance between CO2 chemisorption quantity and BET surface area of TiO2.
